12th Annual "Night at Casablanca" Crab Feed Fundraiser

The Club organizes an annual Margaritaville Crab Feed held at the Boys & Girls Club in Sparks. Almost 800 people attend and we make it a very fun night. We have entertainment, wine, beer and margaritas to help get everyone in a party mood.

The majority of the proceeds are raised from our live and silent auctions. We package many of the items in nice baskets with themes, such as date night out or golf packages etc.

We also strive to have unique items like tickets to Burning Man and vacation packages to some of our own members condo's (Costa Rica, Lake Tahoe, Portola etc) as well as specialty dinners prepared by some of our members.

The beauty of the Crab Feed is that the Culinary Students at the Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology prepare, cook, serve and clean up all of the food preparation so that our Club can concentrate on running the event and working the auctions. It is a great collaboration with the school as the students get community service hours, and we support them with scholarships.

The 2010 event netted $60,000 and we use it to support all of our Clubs community service efforts along with 3-5 scholarships per year.
